Three months ago my oven and dishwasher decided to call it quits on me. So we have been living without both. Not too big of deal. When I want to cook I can do it in small quantities in our toaster oven (that is next on our list of household fix its), and having no dishwasher is like the good ol’ days back in college.
The biggest drawback of washing by hand is waiting for the hot water to come in. It seems to want to take for-ev-er. So… instead of washing dishes individually and wasting a ton of water (waiting for the hot water to come in). I wait until I have a batch of dishes. So a cluttered counter top has been our way of life over the past few months.
Although our dishwasher doesn’t clean any longer it still works as a glorified drying rack.
We have been saving our pennies and we are hoping our new budget priced dishwasher will be worth the saved up cashed we used to buy it.
