Developmental Update: Lil'Miss 29 Months Lil'Bean 10 Months

This month has gotten away from me. I am usually pretty good about posting a developmental update of my kiddos. It completely slipped my mind, needless to say life has been busy and time is flying faster than I can count.

Lil’Bean is 10 months old, he is a busy little guy who likes to be on the move. He is cruising around the furniture proficiently. His favorite mode of getting around is army crawling. He can crawl on his hands and knees but he isn’t as fast so he doesn’t do it as often. Yesterday he surprised us by crawling all afternoon on his hands and knees. It is very cute.

He has stood up with out assistance a few times, but isn’t quite ready to walk.
Lil’Bean has the sweetest giggle, he laughs and laughs when we play peek-a-boo or when his sister interacts and plays with him.

He is a hearty eater and when he gets in a good dinner, he now sleeps through the night. What a blessing that is for me. The middle of the night and super early mornings were killing me.

He is working on cutting more teeth which has made him a little on the irritable side and thrown off his nap schedule. Bummer.

Lil’Miss is sweet and as busy as ever (29 months old). She is a great big sister. The other day little brother was cranky, it was the evening and she was tired too but was not acting out. We were out and about in the car and she kept turning to her brother saying, “It’s okay”. She likes to help him and play with him. It is really fun to see them interact and react to one another.

Her language seems to blossom more and more every day. She repeats words through the day and her vocabulary has grown leaps. She is improving at learning to communicate what she wants which is helpful.

Some of her favorite things: coloring “ca-ying”, counting (she can count to around 12-14), identifying letters (she names letter names, but usually it isn’t the correct letter, we’ve got some more work to do), she loves to watch movies. Her current favorite is Happy Feet. She loves to act out the parts where they are singing and attempt to sing along.

As active as Lil’Miss is, she will find an activity that will capture her attention and attend to it for 30-60 minutes. Example: I have some magnetic letters and some numbers on cards in a small box. She will go through the box over and over dumping them out then putting them back in the box. I am not sure what she is processing in her mind during those times, I would love to peek into her little brain.

Lil’Miss is becoming a pickier eater. She loves fruit and occasionally finds a vegetable she likes. But lately I have had a terrible time getting her to try meals I prepare. Hopefully just a two year old phase.

She is no longer napping. It is nice in some ways, but on the flip side I could use the time, perhaps that is one reason I haven’t been blogging as much. It is harder to get on the computer and type with the kiddos up. Since she isn’t napping, her bed time is much earlier. A couple of times in the past week we have put her down around 6:30pm. She will sleep for 12-14 hours when she is really tired. It is nice to put her down early, but it does make it difficult to leave the house as a family in the afternoon/evening with such an early bed time.

Happy Growing Like Crazy!
