Monkey Meet Monkey

Lil Miss loves to carry around her favorites.  Since early last summer she has been carrying around a brown monkey with a Planet Hollywood badge in it’s chest.  Every where we went she would bring Monkey and her blanket.  She had to have them both, her security… rather obsession.

A couple months ago we lost monkey in a store.  I was frazzled and didn't want to take the time to find monkey, but daddy felt compelled to keep looking.  He informed the staff that we had lost our beloved monkey and asked if they would throw it behind the counter if they found it.

The hubs checked back into the store a couple of days later and they had found it and monkey was gifted back to the rightful owner.

Fast forward another month or so, I was out Christmas shopping at World Market, with the kids in tow and I warned Lil’Miss if she didn't leave her monkey and blanket in the car she might loose them.

We were finally done with our one stop and I was buckling the kids into their car seats when Lil’Miss wails out, “MONKEY!  I want monkey, where is monkey?”  I looked around the car, no where to be found.  I even attempted to run back into the store.  Monkey was no where near the front of the store.  I made a decision right then and there. It was time to say goodbye to monkey once and for all.

Oh the tears and cries.  But surprisingly they only lasted an hour or so, then monkey was forgotten and only brought up a few more times (thank goodness, Monkey was a headache).  Oh the adventures Mr. Monkey is having at World Market now!

This picture was taken the day before she lost Monkey.  I thought she might migrate to a different monkey in our house, but nope.  I am so happy she is only hauling around her blanket.  I look forward to the day when she can let it go with out tears and drama.

Happy Monkeying Around!
