I decided to keep my financial vision board simple. I started by going to magazines I had on hand
and clipping out anything that spoke to me.
I found statements on the bondage of debt and I clipped plenty of those,
but in the end I left them off.
I used the road map approach, except it is more a bicycle
trail. To me a bicycle symbolizes a
journey of simplicity and freedom. Many
years of my life it was my main mode of transportation and I grew to love
riding my bike, in more recent years (since bearing children) it hasn’t treated
me too well when I have tried to pop on and ride my bike, so at the moment it
represents pain/debt.
My vision board map starts out at an elephant trying to
balance on a ball. How often to you feel
like you are an elephant doing great balancing act??? I know I have had my
days.
My journey takes me and my family through a few twists and
turns and wraps around a teacup (the story of the tea cup I will have to share
on a later date!) and continues through some inspiring words and ends our
journey with a reward of a special trip.
At the moment I am not exactly sure where I am going to go on my
journey, but I promised myself when I was traveling through Europe that I would
bring my future husband back to Venice with me.
It was such a beautiful, romantic city, so it is something to shoot for
today.
See my post on my first step to becoming 100% debt free here
for more details!
May your journey be adventurous!
I want to hear from you!

tomorrow? Please share your vision
boards by sending me an email (mrs. domestica @ yahoo. com) or commenting

Hmmmm, my vision boards got tucked in the back of a closet....then tossed out. Maybe it's time to picture some new color and vision in my life.
Yes! Create another one, it will aid you in getting what you want.
I'm getting myself out of debt this year too! I had to finance a laptop (I freelance, so it's a need) and a friend helped me out when I first got to the city, in addition to an old credit card and my student loans... It gets really overwhelming.
I'm prioritizing my bills by highest interest rate first. So I'm paying off the old card and concentrating on it for the next month or two paying 12x the minimum balance.
After that I'm paying the laptop financing... (it has an outrageous interest rate after the one year mark). I MUST pay it off before next January. I'm paying, again, 12-13x the minimum payment amount.
My friend has told me that she doesn't want any money from me until after I've been in the city for a full year. She's definitely got some faith in me getting going in the new city. So I've prioritized her last and it would really only take me 2 months to pay her back. So I should have all three of those debts paid by December.
Student loans... *sigh* are going to be a reality for the next 5-10 years.
Way to go Nanette!!! Keep up your determination and you will be in a wonderful peaceful debt free space!!
Thank goodness for friends who have faith in us!!
Sorry about the student loans, my first student loan payment was painful. I hated paying it. I was so happy when it was gone!! You will get there, keep up the hard work!
Yes, way to go Nanette. I did a happy dance when I got my student loans paid off....Happy Day!
I remember you riding the bike! You will ride it again for fun, give it time!
